As you prepare for 2023, it is vital to do more than make a vision board of dreams; it is time to create goals and a detailed plan of action. Below, I have shared additional information to support goal-setting efforts:

Role of Personal Circumstance

You should be able to act on the professional and personal goals you have created. Did you know that a failure to consider life circumstances can impair motivation and goal-setting? Changing circumstances will always influence goals. If your circumstances change, but your plans don’t, this could result in quick failure and deflate your motivation to continue.

People are often unwilling to adapt and adjust to situations, and it is hard for them to change their self-expectations. The failure to adapt can cause frustration and a lack of motivation.

How can you keep this from happening? First, understand that motivation and goal setting can be maintained if individual accounts for circumstances. Second, redefining goals is crucial to remain motivated and stay on the path to success. Personal events, motivation, and goal-setting affect the outcome of success.

If you fail to reach any of these steps, your motivation will diminish, and you will fail to work up to your abilities, dampening your chances of success.

As Christians, we believe our circumstances will change, yet until they do, we stand in faith and wait.

¹⁴ Wait on the Lord;
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the Lord!

Psalm 27:14

David said it best how we wait on success; we remain with a spirit of —good courage. It is time to change our behavior in planning for the future, and this change is crucial and necessary to achieve personal and professional success.

A change will not be metamorphized if all we do is sit in our prayer closets and pray.

A change will not come if we refuse to have constructive conversations that make others uncomfortable.

A change will not come if families only focus on their children and fail to embrace the generation.

You can and will breed success with a plan and structure for your life. Now, let’s get to work!
